Brendon Carlin

Brendon has been a Unit Master at the Architectural Association since 2011, is a Lecturer at the Royal College of Art leading the Masters design studio ADS9, is a candidate with AA PhD by Design, and contributor to The City as a Project. Brendon has practised and taught extensively at distinguished practices and institutions worldwide including several AA Visiting School Programmes.

Maria Paez Gonzalez

Maria is a practicing architect, an associate with Foster + Partners and a leading member in the design and construction of Apple Campus, the new Apple headquarters. She has tutored workshops in the Architectural Association and Veritas University and collaborates with Relational Urbanism in several research based projects. She is also the founding member of Fundacion HCGB which works to preserve the architectural heritage of Coro, Venezuela a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Andrew Houston

Andrew is a film theory scholar and currently lectures on the development of film expression, contemporary global cinema, Italian Neo-Realism and French New Wave cinema in addition to tutoring post production studio at the prestigious Colorado Film School. Andrew has won several awards as a short filmmaker and is releasing his first feature length film this year.

Alyssa Ueno – AssistantTutor

Alyssa Ueno trained in architecture at the Architectural Association and the Royal College of Art. She has worked in number of practices in both cities in between her studies and is a registered architect in Japan. With the additional background in Visual Culture Studies from Goldsmiths, University of London, she has worked on number of collaborative art projects and exhibitions internationally. 

2014 – 16

Andreani Maria Stephanou – AssistantTutor and Media Development

Anny graduated from the Architectural Association in 2015, where she developed a two-year thesis in Diploma Unit 9, exploring the use of the every-day to create context as architecture. She was awarded a week-long travel bursary to Rome and Nicosia for film research while working for 3DReid Architecture in 2013. Amongst mixed-use developments in Kuala Lumpur and residential schemes in London, she has also been involved in aviation projects, including the recently completed Terminal 3 Refurbishment in Heathrow. Her interest lies in the act of drawing as a process of discovery and collaboration.
